Note: Our rescue requires that all adopter's current and prior animals are up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives, unless there is a medical reason not allowing it. All animals in your household should be spayed or neutered, unless medically indicated that they should not be, or are currently too young. We don't know what happened to Hope before. She is very young. One or two max. We do not think that she was abused, but we do think that she is a fearful dog when it comes to humans. It may be that she was never properly exposed to people as a puppy and young dog. Hope came to us pregnant. She lost all her babies. She was fear agressive and hard to handle. She could not be taken out on the leash and could not be brought in and out of the yard. When we spoke to her.. she would shake by the looks of us and hide in a corner... Hope is still shy.... but that is it.. Shy... She wags her tail when she sees us, lets us sit next to her when she hangs on the couch and she crates well. we still have to approach her carefully, but can pick her up and carry her. We are still working on trusting us enough to walk her on a leash.. Hope goes in and out of the house by herself. She loves to sun herself on the deck but most of all she lvoes hanging in the house on the couch. Hope loves other dogs.. She is curious , wants to explore and does come close for treats. She still gets scared when we grab her to hold her... She is getting better every day... Hope is not a dog for a busy family. She needs to be in a home with a calm environment and another dog. A fenced yard is a must. Hope is a "Project dog" that will require a patient home giving her time to blossom. She is beautiful! She loves the men in our home!! The puppies love her and climb all over her.. She will get there and be an amzing companion one day. One who will never leave your side!
